Hymnal Happiness

Lately, this hymn has been in my mind a LOT.

It's one of my most favorites...

"How gentle God's commands, How kind His precepts are,

Come cast your burdens on the Lord and trust His constant care.

Beneath His watchful eye His saints securely dwell.

That hand which bears all nature up shall guard His children well.

Why should this anxious load press down your weary mind?

Haste to your Heavenly Father's throne and sweet refreshment find.

His goodness stands approved, unchanged from day to day.

I'll drop my burden at His feet and bear a song away."

Some of my favorite words in this song are... gentle... constant... watchful... securely... haste... refreshment... approved... unchanged... drop... song.

Isn't it wonderful?

Especially I love the thought, "That hand which bears all nature up shall guard His children well." Especially right now when we're focused on the hope of spring, we can see the miracle of nature all around us. We know that not even a sparrow falls without Him knowing and He tells us to consider the lilies... How much more then will He guard His children.

Love it.

The hymns make me So Happy.

Amy,
Not only does your blogging help you - but more than that, it helps others so much - just as Denise said! You are an inspiration to more people than you will ever know! I love you! And I too love the hymns. Remember when you were called to be the Sacrament Meeting Chorister and you were only 12 years old? Amazing. You're just amazing!

This is the first Saturday in 3 that I haven't worked. I couldn't wait to sit at the computer and peruse my favorite blogs, including YOURS! I've read your last posts and was tickled that I was a "chat-witness" to the day President Monson dropped into your hospital. (I wish he would visit school districts!)

I enjoy the hymns very very much, too. They bring light into my life, especially on rather gray February days. Loves Ya, Renae

I love Hymns too. They will always have a positive effect on my mood regardless of how sour I am. I have been listening lately to Your LDS Radio online. It's free and there is conventional hymns and modern christian music, like Hilary Weeks. I think I sent an email to you about it, but I really hope you check it out at

Love you!
